Competitive Team (XFC) Try-outs for 2014-2015!

YES! AYSO has "club" teams that participate with other "club teams" in UYSA's competitive game circuit! That means we play against the likes of Sparta United, Blue Knights, USA, Glory, etc. What makes us different? Let's count the ways:

1) AYSO coaches are accredited by the NCACE (the only Youth Soccer Organization with the accreditation).

2) AYSO "club teams" (dubbed XFC) are actually "dual rostered" and play games with their XFC team AND with a primary AYSO team that plays games on Saturdays. This concurrent or parallel roster means players can actually play twice as many games for one low price.

3) Speaking of price... AYSO is the best deal in town. While most clubs charge several hundred to several thousands for a year of soccer (usually 16 games or so), AYSO's fees are around $200 for the year... including the uniform... for up to 32 games in a year. Tournaments are extra, but that is standard for any club team.

We are in our second year with our XFC teams and are slowly growing. With that, we will be holding try-outs for the following age groups on the dates listed.

DAY CHANGE! - Tuesday, June 10th (not Monday) from 6pm to 8pm @ Union Middle School

U16 Boys (for boys who turn 16 after July 31, 2014 ... Including 15 and 16 year olds)
U18 Boys (for boys who turn 18 after July 31, 2014 ... Including 17 and 18 year olds)

IMPORTANT! If you ARE NOT registered with AYSO for the 2013-2014 OR 2014-2015 season yet, Please download the DISCLAIMER/RELEASE FORM , fill it out, sign it, and bring it with you to the try-out.

For Parents and spectators

Just a reminder for you that all the coaches, referees, and board members are volunteers.  During games, remember that the coach is the coach, the referee refs the game, the parents and spectators cheer the players on in a positive manner.  Volunteers are always needed, let a board member know how you would like to help.

PARENTS! - Please take a moment to read the Parent's Pledge before your child's first game.

What makes AYSO special?

Our philosophies:

  • Everyone Plays (at least half a game)
  • Balanced Teams (talented players spread among teams)
  • Open Registration (no tryouts, anyone can sign up to play)
  • Positive Coaching (encouragement rather than criticize)
  • Good Sportsmanship (everyone has fun)
  • Player Development (teaching players skills)

Safe Haven and other online training can be found at the TRAINING SITE HEREYou can obtain your volunteer id number at or you can send an email to

Reminder: no dogs or other animals are allowed at Union Middle School or other schools during practices or games!
All games are played at Union Middle School on Saturdays.  It is up to the coach of the team where and when the practices will be held.  We will play 8 games in the fall and 8 games in the spring.  All players need to wear shin guards, bring a soccer ball, and a water bottle to all practices, they must wear their shin guards and have a water bottle at all games.
