Mid-Season Update and Announcements

Hello AYSO Families!

We have THREE announcements/reminders:

1. We have posted the Team Photo schedule for Saturday, April 18th. Hopefully, you received the photo envelope from your coach. If not, we will have extras at the field for you. Every player gets a FREE "Memory Mate" which is a single sheet with the player's individual photo and the team photo. BUT! You need to fill out the photo packet and turn it in when you get your individual photo taken - EVEN IF YOU ARE NOT PURCHASING EXTRA PHOTOS.

You can download the team photo schedule HERE .

2. We have a NEW SPONSOR! Please welcome Wasatch Allergy and Asthma to the AYSO Family! You are also ALL invited to their OPEN HOUSE this Wednesday from 5-7pm. They are opening a new office in Riverton and are having an open house at that location: 13348 Market Place Dr, Suite 220, Riverton, UT 84065

Along with the Wasatch Allergy and Asthma Open House, they have provided us with some literature about Childhood Asthma and Exercise Induced Asthma that you can download from our site as well:

http://www.sandysoccer.com/pdf/Childhood-Asthma-Talking-Points.pdf

3. One last thing. As you all know AYSO is an ALL VOLUNTEER ORGANIZATION. This Thursday night (4/16/2015), the Regional Board will be voting for a NEW Regional Commissioner. If you are interested in becoming Regional Commissioner (or any other board position) please let a board member know and we will get you on the list of nominees. AYSO would not run without our Regional Board Volunteers. Please consider donating your time. Board positions don't even require any knowledge of soccer... just a willingness to make AYSO the best youth soccer organization there is.

Thank you for all your support!

WHY CHOOSE AYSO over Other Programs?

AYSO's Vision is to provide world class youth soccer programs that enrich children's lives.

  • Everyone Plays
  • Balanced Teams
  • Open Registration
  • Positive Coaching
  • Good Sportsmanship
  • Player Development
The mission is accomplished by providing these essential services:
  • Coaching and referee programs including quality delivery systems
  • Quality administrative and operating systems with a support network
  • Strong financial position

  • Program research and development

For Parents and spectators

Just a reminder for you that all the coaches, referees, and board members are volunteers.  During games, remember that the coach is the coach, the referee refs the game, the parents and spectators cheer the players on in a positive manner.  Volunteers are always needed, let a board member know how you would like to help.

PARENTS! - Please take a moment to read the Parent's Pledge before your child's first game.

What makes AYSO special?

Our philosophies:

  • Everyone Plays (at least half a game)
  • Balanced Teams (talented players spread among teams)
  • Open Registration (no tryouts, anyone can sign up to play)
  • Positive Coaching (encouragement rather than criticize)
  • Good Sportsmanship (everyone has fun)
  • Player Development (teaching players skills)

Safe Haven and other online training can be found at the TRAINING SITE HEREYou can obtain your volunteer id number at www.eayso.org or you can send an email to ayso354@yahoo.com.

Reminder: no dogs or other animals are allowed at Union Middle School or other schools during practices or games!
All games are played at Union Middle School on Saturdays.  It is up to the coach of the team where and when the practices will be held.  We will play 8 games in the fall and 8 games in the spring.  All players need to wear shin guards, bring a soccer ball, and a water bottle to all practices, they must wear their shin guards and have a water bottle at all games.
